Radiographic Observation of Gastric Mass Survey in Inhabitants of Keung-Nam Area

Abstract
|
|
|
The photofluorographic gastric mass survey after a barium swallowing was performed in 693 cases of inhabitants of Keung-Nam province during summer season in 1976, and an analysis of the data obtained from this study was herein presented.
1. On photofluorographical point of view, 92. 6(642 cases) of total 693 cases was satisfactory and 7.4%
(51 cases) of them was unsatisfactory for diagnostic interpretation.
2. The sex distribution of total cases was 57.0% in males and 43.0% in female, i.e., the sex ratio
1. 3:1(M : F).
3. Among 642 cases of the satisfactory miniature films, 541 cases (84.3%) were suspected normal, 41 cases(6. 4%) gastric disease, 57 cases (8.8%) duodenal dis& ´, and 3 cases miscellaneous disease (2 enlarged liver, I gastrectomized).
4. Among 41 cases of suspected gastric diseases by miniature films, 22 cases were studied by standard gastrointestinal examination and the results were as follows; 2 cases (0.31%) are gastric cancer, 10 cases gastritis, 4 cases gastric ulcer, one case duodenal ulcer, and 5 cases(22.7%) false positive.
